Tourism in an Outbreak: Down but Not Out

As the COVID-19 outbreak continues to sound alarms across the globe, some travelers are cancelling their trips out of fear of contracting the virus. According to the U.S. Travel Association, the United States has downgraded tourism projections for 2020 over the next three months.  

New York City’s Times Square is typically a hotspot for tourists, but the famous destination is emptier than usual—with some exceptions.
