Curling Returns to NYC, After Decades on Ice

Over the last century, New York City curlers have had to travel out of the city to New Jersey or Upstate New York if they wanted to throw some stones. This winter the sport has finally returned to one of the city’s five boroughs.

Thanks to a collaboration between Curl NYC and the Le Frac Center at Lakeside, beginners and experts alike can now learn the sport and compete in Prospect Park, Brooklyn. Interest in curling has been unexpected, with both the instructional and competitive leagues selling out.
