ONLY CASES WITH LOCATION INFORMATION ARE PINNED ON THE MAP
New York now has the most confirmed cases of the coronavirus than any other state in the country.
Gov. Andrew Cuomo declared a state of emergency in New York on Saturday, March 7.
World Health Organization declares the coronavirus outbreak a global pandemic on Wednesday, March 11.
The map below will track the locations of confirmed cases of coronavirus infections throughout New York State, as state or county officials release information.
A word about our sourcing:
We use data released from the governor’s office to track the confirmed cases geographically. In cases, where detailed locations are not available, city hall or county government addresses have been used to pin the markers. Some of the coordinates are modified slightly to avoid overlapping. Details about the cases also come from data released by the governor’s office and press reports—links are provided to relevant articles. Some cases (yellow marker) are confirmed with internal emails or documents provided by anonymous sources. It’s possible that there’re redundant cases — some cases may be pinned twice because of their residential and business addresses.
