The Native American Council at Columbia University held its eighth annual powwow on Saturday. The event featured performers and vendors, one of whom—Kathy Bell Johnson—explained how making the jewelry of her people helps her stay connected to the Oneida nation after moving from upstate New York to the Bronx.
