Once home to a bustling number of pickle stores, the Lower East Side’s Essex Street now only has one left: The Pickle Guys. For over twenty years, owner Alan Kaufman has sold the gourmet pickles, mushrooms, and olives to many people throughout New York City.
As the only remaining store, Kaufman speculates the reason his store has survived after so many years is his dedication to “making it the old fashioned way.”
