The Wild Bird Fund is New York City’s only wildlife rehabilitation center. The center cares for and releases thousands of birds every year. In the process, volunteers and veterinarians discovered that a large population of New York’s pigeons have lead poisoning. The Wild Bird Fund has been instrumental in caring for these birds and assisting with research to track lead.
